After renewing subscription, I lost 12 days

Hello, not sure where the best place for this question would be?

I had 12 days remaining on a previous subscription to Avast! Internet Security.  Today, August 9, I renewed for one year.  After inserting the license, it now tells me that it expires August 9, 2014... which is exactly one year from today.  What happened to the 12 days I still had left from the previous subscription?

I have renewed before and gotten credited for the remaining days on the previous license, so I was not expecting it to be any different this time.
