Avast Internet Security 8.0.1489 Not Updating

hi,

I had just installed Avast Internet Security 8.0.1489, and its not updating, i had click the update button for past 30 minutes, and its still showing "Step 1/2, Initializing, please wait"

Now what to do, how to update??

Can anyone help me out!

Manual update of VPS - avast! Virus Definitions Update - Manual Download VPS Update (virus definitions, vpsupd.exe, approx 93.4 MB). - Save the file to your hard disk, locate where you saved it and double click it and that should carry out the virus definitions update.

why do i need to download this extra programme, why can't Avast Internet Security 8.0.1489 do it self?? and secondly there is no option to stop the update, which i started manually, its still showing the same message, how to stop update??

Because your internet is probably slow considering the fact that the first update is quite big and then the later updates are tiny KB files,avast must be doing some updating in background and that is why manual upate is stuck.Avast or any program cant run 2 update tasks together.

Dont worry,once you apply this update,avast should do automatic updating normally and you will not be in need of downloading the manual update again.

There is no need to stop update,it will stop as soon it finds avast is up to date or just with a restart of the machine after updating.Besides,remember no antivirus is 100% because of the influx of 10000's of viruses coming out everyday so better be self cautious.

My internet speed is 2MB so its fast, to be honest i was Using Kaspersky Internet Security for many years and there was no problem of update as you mentioned with Avast, its just because Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 there latest version makes my system slow, so thought to use Avast Internet Security 8.0.1489, this is not slowing my PC, hope it protect my PC like Kaspersky did for many years.

KIS and AIS are different...KIS has many issues in latest version anyway and plus who knows if some infection slip past KIS and right now you are infected,Dont you understand? No AV is 100% 

Get your browsing habits and stuff right first and learn from the guide I posted and you will never be infected
