New Google HiJack/Malware
« on: May 03, 2005, 06:23:07 PM »
Greetings to other fans of AVAST!  I Found this in the Mozilla forum just now, and wanted to post it here:

According to this security site:
http://www.techworld.com/security/news/index.cfm?NewsID=3585

Misspelling "Google" (Do NOT Attempt to Visit named Site!!) will install all sorts of junk on your PC.  Browsers using PCs are targeted - not just I.E. or any other in particular.

Please read the above article and take no action toward "looking at the named site;" you are warned twice in the article as well.

Perhaps adding those "bad ones" to your hosts file would be good protection!
Cheers and thanks for a great product - I consider AVAST! the best and recommend it to everyone.

Excellent - thank you.  Obviously with all the warnings the article gave, there ws no way for me to "check" myself.  Good news.
