New Tip I like to use
« on: May 26, 2005, 05:18:35 PM »
I have several clients where I can not just uninstall the old AV software and deploy avast! all at one time. So here's what I do in those situations:

1. After I perform all the typical steps: create deployment package, run a discovery task etc, I create a new group called "Temp_Install" (without the quotes).
2. Then I remove the old software from a workstation or two (if they have any installed).
3. Move those few workstations to the Temp_Install group.
4. Drag and Drop the Deployment Task of my choice onto the Temp_Install group.
5. Once the installation is completed, I move them back to the group they belong to.

This may have been a real obvious way of doing this for some people, but I thought I would share it anyway.

Thanks, sounds very reasonable
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.
