On-access scanner, Where'd it go?
« on: May 05, 2005, 07:50:46 PM »
I installed Avast 4.6Pro and I had the little blue icons in the systray and the on-access scanner was working great, I scanned the computer and even opened up an untrusting file i knew i had and it caught it. But now after shutting down and booting up the computer I have no on-access scanner or blue icons and I have no clue how to get it back on?

Any Help??????

Some time ago there was a rash of these for people who were using SpySweeper had a false positive and it was picking up the avast ashDisp (icon) as LopDotCom and deleting the registry entry hense no icon.

Perhaps we are seeing a repeat of this problem, with another adware/spyware program?

I don't think this is the case now. My fix tool should fix that problem, but it appears it fixed icons only to one person.
