Using OTLPE to back up the files and then resetting the system would probably be the best bet now

Doing it now. Thank you so much for all help and patience with me. Gonna try to get the hard drive check anyway, maybe it really has some defects and just temorprarily got revived :/

I have the same problem as the other people in this thread.
could you help me out? (i know it has been a long time since this thread has started but you would realy help me out here!)
the FRST document is attached, i'm running windows 7 x86

Lets try the easy way first

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST and press FIX
On completion try a normal boot

I have the same problem since this morning. My PC worked fine a couple of days ago. This morning I opened it, or should I say "tried to open it" and it hangs with every attempt I tried to make!!! In safe mode, it hangs in aswRVRT.sys file. Any tips for me? I am in the proccess of running the FRST to creat the log file and post it here. I will as soon as I make one! Oh, Avast is installed on my PC if that rings any bells!!
PS! I have a M3A Asus M/B with an active RAID array (2X250GB) on it, sadly, and it doesn't seem to work as intended! The minute after I inserted a win7 CD, the RAID array mailfunctioned...cant seem to make it work anymore...

That sounds like a raid driver error or a hard drive problem

Maybe so, but in safe mode it stops in that specific file (aswRvrt.sys) every time! Anyway, I have to say that I reseted the bios (hardware reset, battery off and back on again) and it seems that for now it is ok, but just to be sure, I uninstalled the avast from this computer! Will post if any other incident happens within the next few days!

Bear in mind that the system freezes on the file after the one displayed on the screen
