email problem please help

when ever I try to connect to the email I get this error message The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
does anyone know why & how I can fix it

Be sure your firewall give free access to these applications:

Outlook Express: Msimn.exe;
Outlook: Outlook.exe

What is your OS?
What is your email program?
What is your firewall?

More importantly your firewall should give access to ashMaiSv.exe the avast! Internet Mail provider.
