Avast Mobile on Jellybean 4.2.2: Multiple User Accounts
« on: September 06, 2013, 05:33:29 AM »
So how do I work AMS on the new Jellybean update?

It doesn't show as INSTALLED on the other user accounts... So is it still running?

Do I go through the INSTALL to have it running on the other accounts?

...many questions with this new Android release...maybe a sticky on it, as it evolves...

Hi,

yeah, you have to install and set up on every account separately. It won't actually install another .apk from Google Play if found on the device already, it will just link the existing installation to another account and create account-specific settings for it.

So then how does AMS AntiTheft work correctly... Wont this cause conflict?

Also, would this allow for circumvention of the AMS AntiTheft set-up (via separate user account without AMS installed/initiated?

Why not?

You'll have to ask about that in the Anti-Theft forum, not AMS.

Not sure what you are asking in the second question.

And why not what? :)

So I just tried this and it was as though id never installed AMS. It would open without the security PIN, change ANY settings pre- established with MAIN ACCOUNT installation.  Basically, it appears as though this presents the ability for a secondary user to change what should be system wide for all accounts.

Now, ill go ask the question on this very subject in the AntiTheft child board as well, so long as im not reported for posting the same query twice... Im already on probation from following rules and suggestions.

Don't worry, if you'd get into any troubles related to this, just send everyone to me.
