No longer able to connect to WiFi
« on: September 08, 2013, 02:22:41 PM »
Yesterday I installed Avast Mobile on my (Vodafone Branded) Samsung Galaxy S3 (I9300).
When I arrived at home I was no longer able to connect to my WiFi network. My home PC however has a perfect WiFi connection and a friends phone also connects without issue. Apart from installing Avast Mobile nothing has changed on my phone.

Security-wise the only other somewhat similar program I have is the free version of Vodafone Mobile Protect.

Can it be that the firewall creates issues? It says it needs a rooted phone to be activated, but one line lower it claims to block traffic?

Removing Avast, removing Mobile Protect, rebooting... Nothing helps. By the way, internet throug 3G works as usual.

Hope you can help me get my WiFi back (prefferebly without having to try a factory reset)!

Friendly greetings, Leon

Hi,

that's definitely not AMS doing, especially if you don't have a rooted device. Did you try, for example, manually connecting to the network? Setting up the network again? Turning off/on your WiFi router and your device?
