Help please. :)
« on: September 12, 2013, 06:46:15 AM »
I just would like to ask. Is it possible for a mp3 file to have a virus. I'm talking about the "song.mp3" not the "song.mp3     .exe"

Thanks:)

are you infected?

one example:  Scrambler.  http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/scramble.shtml

The worm has a dangerous payload - it scans hard drives for MP3 files and corrupts them.

Variant:Scrambler.A (Scooter, I-Worm_Scooter, I-Worm.Scooter, MP3 virus)

Thanks for the reply. I'm just converting youtube videos to mp3. I scanned with avast. No threats found. I'm planning to download from p2p because in converting youtube to mp3, the quality that I get is not that good. My co-worker has music and they are 320kbps, quality's great. He said he downloaded it from sites that give free mp3 downloads and p2p sites.

Worms can only infect me when i ran an executable file that is infected, right?

Thanks
