avast version 8.0.1497 installed now firefox is not working

hello all
I installed version 8.0.1497 Free, last week, but now my internet is blocked. homepage "google" works, but as soon I want to visit a webpage it's blocked, got message, it's reset.
tried Chrome an IE also, same problem.
when I diable Avast, everything works again.
so for now I downloaded AVGFree, disable Avast, so I can get on line
I would like to get Avast working again,
what could be wrong?
I'm using Avast more than a year now, never problems.

What is your operating system and firewall ?
Does it allow avastSvc.exe internet access ?
- If it does delete the entry for it and do a manual update and reconnect to the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again.

What version of avast dis you have before ?

Was this a clean install (removal of previous version) of 8.0.1497 or a program update from the avast UI ?

NOTE: Having two resident AVs installed even if one is disabled can still cause issues, disabling one AV doesn't unload or stop its drivers and these can conflict.

operating system is windows xp
using firewall of windows
had updated from avast Ui. think I had the version 7

so I just uninstalled avast and manual installed avast 8 again
thought it's ok now, but after 5 min internet, same problem
every new tab gives "page reset during loading".
so now disabled avast for 10 min to write this reply
( uninstalled the AVG before installing avast again)

so what is the problem?

Try a clean reinstall following the directions below.
- Download the latest version of avast, 8.0.1497 http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again (if you didn't save your last download). Use that when you reinstall.

- Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, aswClear.exe find it here and save it to your HDD (it has uninstall tools for all versions).

• 1. Now uninstall avast! - using add remove programs, if you can't do that start from the next step, reboot.
• 2. run the avast! Uninstall Utility, it will request it be run from safe mode (and will handle the boot into safe mode), first for 7.x if previously installed and then for 8.0, once complete reboot into normal mode.
• 3. install the latest version, reboot.
