[My new app] Infiltration Recovery Tool
« on: May 17, 2005, 06:33:44 PM »
Another fine creation from eXcessive Software labs :)

Infiltration Recovery Tool gives you ability to recover some key system features when facing malware infiltration. Many trojans, worms and backdoors disable Task Manager,Registry Editor and some even Explorer's Right-click context menu. You can restore these features with Infiltration Recovery Tool in just few clicks. There is no guarantee that it will work in all cases...
When you have Task Manager and Regedit back online it's much easier to clean the mess than without it :)

Infiltration Recovery Tool supports all Windows operating systems, although Task Manager under Windows 9x doesn't seem to be affected ??? (works only for Windows 2000/XP). Other features work as expected.

DOWNLOAD:
http://www.excessive-software.eu.tt

Page update is very fresh so you'll have to double-click refresh button in order to see latest content. Empty browser cache does the same :)

I hope this tool will serve you well!

Basically you can use it in opposite way too hehe (you can prevent access to Regedit and taskamager for example),but it's main purpose is gaining access to those features disabled by malware.

RejZor, first of all, thanks for your new "gift" to us. I'm using with happiness your Avast! External Control. Please, can you say me how your useful program can resist to malware infection? It has something like an incorporated "shield"? It makes a backup copy of some important files?

Ciao. :)

It just reverts crucial settings back to default state so you can access Regedit and Task Manager (and Explorer right click menu) again.

Halio RejZoR,

I have put it on my desktop, just in case. Did you ever use an alternative browser like intellitamper. I tweaked it with my own cgi dictionaries. Great tool to experiment with, if you want to see the contents of a site at one glance. A bit like webcow, but completely differently achieved. Using these kind of adapted apps browser tools you will experience that there is still a lot of weak (e.g. unsafe) cgi-implementations all around on sites.

Have a virussafe surf,

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

I have tested Infiltration Recovery Tool (IRT) on limited accounts in my school, but it appears you need admin rights in order to use this tool. I'll add admin rights detection.
