Unresponsive plug-in
« on: October 26, 2013, 05:03:03 PM »
Avast Internet Security 2014   9.0.2006    131025-0    Vista Home premium.   Firefox 24.0   Whenever web browsing in Sandbox or safe-zone, I get a pop-up warning: "Warning: Unresponsive plug-in, Shock-wave flash may be busy or may have stopped responding. You can stop the plug-in or continue to see if plug-in will complete".........response is extremely slloowww and eventually will freeze up and require a manual reboot. Otherwise AIS seems to be working fine..... Any ideas?  :(

I don't suspect malware or a virus but completed the recommended scans and uploaded them here.

Have you tried an uninstall of flash and then a re-install  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Followed the uninstall instructions for Flash Player to the letter....re-installed with functioning version  11.9.900.117 and the sandbox/safe-zone problems continue. My computer doesn't play well with AIS 9.0 in the sandbox nor safe-zone.

I have actually heard of this today but I cannot locate the thread
I believe that if you just close the popup it then functions as normal

My problem was also posted in another thread on the non-virus forum. Wanted to rule-out this problem being caused by malware/virus issue, hence the posting on this forum.

Needless to say, that particular suggestion you refer to in the other thread didn't fix my problems with sandbox and safe-zone in AIS 9.0 either.

However sandboxed IE11 functions normally

I will bring this to the attention of the devs
