I don't have those problems. Whenever I press on that link I always get official avast! skins download page. Take a look in here:

There is a problem.
Here it is and it can be duplicated:

Try this :

http://www.avast.com/eng/skins.html

But, from my reply to him, it is visible that I gave him a direct link to the downloading section on avast! server. It works I just tried it for who knows how many times by now.

EDIT: If there is something wrong with downloading skins from withing avast! GUI (skin browser with link), that means that Alwil guys need to check what's going on with code that controls these things.

I just checked it and it works also when I try to download skins from withing avast! GUI (skin chooser with that link at the bottom). It downloaded and installed skin immediatelly.

Sorry Sasha not here. Downloading skin (9-11) from inside the settings window brings up the sharing violation.

I just tried and redownloaded all skins from the download section (using avast! GUI) and everything worked fine. I even tried to download 9-11 skin two times in a roll and still worked.

This is what Microsoft has to say about this issue... not much, but it says something about file being used by another application in the same time you are trying to download it. I believe "another application" in this case is still avast! , but I suspect there are some problems with administrator rights on computers having troubles with these things.

One thing just popped up to my mind... which is your default browser guys ? I've heard that these things can also happen if your default browser is something other than IE (not all though)...

Using IE7 and am using the Adm. account. and as you can see from the error message, the offending file is ashSimpl

Well, it really works ok on my end, and I also believe on some other people too ( I see drhayden1 also doesn''t have problems with this issue). So it must be something else...

I also reported some ashSimpl.exe problems but it was crashing while scanning process is active. Alwil guys said they will be releasing some beta version of avast! or something like that during the next week. I hope it's gonna help. Also, someone should draw their attention to this thread, so they may have to check this one too.

This is the thread where I posted about the ashSimpl.exe crashing:

http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=23280.0

I know it has nothing to do with this thread, but this is second issue connected to ashSimpl.exe

Maybe it can lead them to the final solution.

Cheers !
