Avast 9.0.2006 uninstallable in asus notebook
« on: October 17, 2013, 11:28:39 AM »
Since version 7.0.1466 avast! can 'be installed on a Asus notebook equipped with -W7 Pro-64, 8 gb ram, intel i7-.
The notebook has always been for as shipped from the factory, with its pre-installed software, no other security software installed etc..
This problem I have reported several times from beginning -Friday, September 14, 2012 12:58 - and specifying that:

The upgrade to version "7.0.1466 free" in a notebook asus has produced the
following effects:
1) very slow installation;
2) avast after a very long time start the rotation icon in the task bar;
3) avast does not require the reboot;
4) after manually restarting you get only loading the desktop, the hard
drive icon is ever on, and it is impossible to perform any action,
everything is locked. Only the forced shutdown allows you to access Safe
Mode so you can uninstall avast.
After uninstalling avast everything works.
How do I send a memory dump in kernel mode?
How can I help you solve the problem?

PK is true?

Since then, all new versions of avast did not lead to anything.
I was hoping, since I have not been listened to, that at least the new version 9.0.2006you could install in that notebook.
Instead, nothing! Exact same problems.
Some technical of Avast! say to me, please, the cabbage of kernel driver that prevents Avast! Working?
What can I do to help?
Thank you.

Are you positive there is no other security software installed ? if the notebook is as you say as shipped from the factory then there should also be a trial version AV installed " Trend Micro, McAfee, Symantec "

Please run OTL from the link Eddy supplied for you and attach the log back here for inspection.

No. The list of loaded drivers had already been given and any security software had been removed with accuracy.

List of loaded drivers where ??? and you also stated the system was still as is from the factory, if you want us to help then the only way we can do so is if you supply the logs requested.

Since other Asus notebook users have no problem, the cause of the problem is your specific laptop.
Most likely it is software related.
It is not only the list of drivers we want to check, but many other things also.
Why not try to solve the problem?

There is nothing apparent that I can see that would conflict with Avast or create the slowdowns you are experiencing

You appear to have programmes installed in Greek, Arabic, Chinese language version.  Now whether that would have an affect I am not sure.  All I can see is snapdo adware nothing of real import otherwise

The OP may have a point here...

I'm running an Asus Notebook and am unable to uninstall via Uninstall from Control Panel. On this laptop neither do I get VPS sounds or notification (I doubt they are linked).

The only way I'm able to remove it is by using the avastclear.exe.

Try a clean install by download the online setup version and using avastclear. The reason I'm recommending an online install is that on my Asus notebook the offline installer didn't open Avast and was basically corrupt. I did not get problems with the Online installer.

1. Uninstall using avastclear in safe mode
2. Install relevant version.

No, sorry.
The problem is that I can not install Avast.
At a time when the installer tries to start the services of avast  the system hangs!
Ok?
