White list black list
« on: October 17, 2013, 02:44:08 PM »
After much help from people here and none from support whatsoever, I found ways to get rid of the spam bar on my emails for my XP, Vista and Windows 7 system.

Of course now that the new programme has download these have all reverted i.e. they show in my mail and I don't want to see them.

Have Avast taken the feed back on this and now offered an option to turn this bar of permanently?

Thanks

About what spambar are you talking?
What exact version of avast are you using?

I do not see any spambar, just avast protection.

Yes, and it's not required on my system so how do I switch it off?

It's intrusive and I don't want it.

Any response from support would be appreciated even if only to say there is no facility to turn this feature off except by going into the OS as I had to do before.

Many thanks.

I normally just untick the browser protection feature during the install (select custom installation during install process).

I do have patience.  This issue was raised about a year ago with support not bothering to reply at that time either.

A couple of very helpful people came up with OS fixes at that time which of course, have disappeared with the new version.

I was rather hoping that Avast would take the feedback on board and give us an option to switch this off if we didn't require it but they seem to have ignored this once again and won't even respond to posts on the subject.
