win32 istdnldr-ag virus with Axcrypt
« on: May 23, 2005, 09:45:31 PM »
Hi,

After downloading the last virus definition, I got an error when I reboot telling me that I have the virus istdnldr-ag in Axcrypt file. I take care of my computer, and I am affraid this warning was a false one.

I didn't download anything at this time, only the Avast definition file.

Can you please tell me if you have also encountered this problem ?

Thanks

I am affraid this warning was a false one.
Maybe, can you test the file against Jotti?
Submit the file to Jotti and let us know the results, i.e., if it is or not a false positive.

I got the same error regarding Axcrypt after the latest update. Two lines from the log are below

5/23/2005 1:46:44 PM   SYSTEM   1596   Sign of "Win32:IstDnldr-AG [Trj]" has been found in "C:\Program Files\Axon Data\AxCrypt\AxCryptU.exe" file.

[Trj]" has been found in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Shared Downloaded Files\Encryption\AxCrypt-Setup.1.6.1_update.exe" file.

Avast thinks the Axcrypt install program and the un-install program are trojans.

just submitted file AxCrypt-Setup.1.6.1_update.exe to jotti and it came up clean except for axcrypt. Looks like a false positive.
