AVAST 2014 installation errors
« on: October 19, 2013, 06:10:34 AM »
Hey guyz,

I recently updated my avast 8.0.1497 to 9.0.2006 via the gui and update gone ok until it asked me to reboot... I did and the next thing I see when my pc logs in is an error  as in attachment error 1...

I checked on forums and decided to do a clean install of AIS 9.0.2006 ...downloaded avast cleaner boot into safe mode uninstalled product and all its remains restarted twice checked registry and folders for any remains and clicked on the 115mb AIS 2014 file...now a new error pops up while the installation self extracts which is error 2

same error  for online installer also....and its the same for any 2014 products...but i can still install the old AIS ver 8.0.1403 without any problem

i tried 3 or 4 times repairing product from control panel which didnt show any problems....uninstalled using avast cleaner twice or thrice but no luck :(

any help would be appreciated..ty :)

Go for a clean install that should rectify all errors

Download Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

  • Run aswClear
  • It will offer to reboot to safe mode

  • In the Select Product to Uninstall dropdown choose the version of Avast that is on your system.
  • Press Uninstall
  • Once complete reboot your system to Normal Mode
  • Reinstall Avast
