Custom scans called ????

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere.

I have the latest version of Avast (free). In the 'Scans' area of the program there are 24 (custom) scans named '????'. I haven't created them & you can't delete them. You can click on delete but they don't get deleted.

They run at various times of the day, but they're not scheduled at all.

Anyone know what's going on ??

Hello rigsby, welcome to the forums.


This "????" issue is reported some time ago.
I don't know why this happens, but resetting avast settings should clean these strange scans.

1. Open Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Restore factory settings.
2. Make sure "Program Settings" is checked.
3. Click "Reset Now".
