Fixing Issues With New Installations Of Avast 2014
« on: October 22, 2013, 08:53:23 PM »
Okay... so I only had one real issue.  This may be due to exploit(s) left in my IE cache that the new Avast 2104 just said "no way" to.

After installation and manual reboot (good job at not requiring a restart and security starts IMMEADIATLY) I opened my IE 10 web browser and it just sat there doing nothing.  No 'INVALID CONNECTION' or nothing... just a white background and no ability to enter web address'.

This was fixed by going in and resetting IE to default on the "ADVANCED" tab... was able to keep USER DATA. I also chose to 'Restore Advanced Settings'.  I don't think the second was necessary, but maybe.

I had to do this for each and every profile on my machine. My browser is working fine again.

This is for IE 10 only and my unique experience.  Remember that if you have different settings normally, after resetting IE 10 to default; you will want to go and re-establish those settings.
