I have the free version and remains until 9/11/2014.
The CURRENT STATUS is registered.

The AVAST asked me for a virus scan (in restart) and later asked me if I wanted the new version (free).
I clicked for the new version and it was installed.

I clicked REGISTER NOW, selected standard protection, Continue to get free license, and at the end the same message is:
The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error.
asked me to click OK, and that is it.
The problem stayed.

Plus, in the Home of the Antivirus it is red saying:
UNSECURED
the AVAST antivirus is off!

So, I clicked either in SECURE ALL (or start)
and the "User Account Control" window shows up,
I click Yes to download that driver, but nothing happens.

What can I do?

I tried to uninstall the AVAST antivirus in Control panel/ uninstall a program, but a windows says:
Error reading product data from: C:\program Files\AVAST software\AVAST\setup\part-setup_ais-7d6.vpx.
Setup cannot continue.

and the problems is now twice.

Any suggestion?

a shot in the dark at best, have you tried rebooting windows?

Try this please

Download Rejzor's Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast 
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

  • Unzip Rejzor's tool to the desktop
  • Run the tool and accept the usage
  • Once complete reboot your system
  • Reinstall Avast

Could you try repair from Control Panel? It seems that your avast installation is somehow corrupted. If repair doesn't help please try to uninstall avast (http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe) and reinstall it again.
It would be great if you could provide us your logs
C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\setup.log
C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Persistent Data\Avast\Logs\Setup.log + Update.log
