Hello André! I'm sorry for the late reply.
Thank you for contacting AVAST Software company with your concerns.
Reinstall avast! completely, please. It seems to be the easiest solution of the problem.
Even if you did it before, do it again this way, using the uninstall utility, please:
1. Download the uninstall utility onto your desktop from this page:
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe2. Start Windows in Safe Mode. Here you can learn how to start Windows in safe mode:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true3. Open (execute) the uninstall utility (in Windows Safe Mode, of course)
4. If you installed avast! in a different folder than the default, browse for it. (Note: Be careful! The content of any folder you choose will be deleted!)
5. Click REMOVE
6. After using that tool, restart your computer
7. Download the latest version of avast! from this page:
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe - avast! Internet Security
or
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe - avast! Pro Antivirus
or
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup.exe - avast! Premier
or
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe - avast! Free Antivirus
8. Install it with default values.
9. Finally, insert your license file (if you're using the paid version) or register the program (if you're using the free version).
Your license file can be sent again upon filling up this form:
