Thinking About Changing AV Program............
« on: October 29, 2013, 10:41:50 PM »
I am so sick of the particular, so called Evangelist being so rude and sarcastic that I'm ready to get a different AV so I won't have to read his posts.  He/she should not be permitted to say the things he/she does.  Won't mention his/her name but his avatar is a skull.  If it were a lowly member I'm sure they would receive a warning.

That's all I have to say.

To switch protection because on account of a forum member is rather petty.
If you do not appreciate any particular users assistance you have two choices.

1) Ignore that post.
2) Use the report to moderators link.

Just don't leave and/or switch because of someones posts and/or attitude.  :)

So you want to give up your protection because you don't like a certain user ???
Why not simply quit reading anything that user posts ???

I don't want to give up Avast at all but it's kind of hard not to read hix/her posts as he/she posts so often.

@Para-Noid..............it's okay to report an Evangelist?

Hi midnight,

You should report anything that you find offensive and explain why you feel that way.

Thanks,

Of course! We may be evangelists but we are not angels.
Just because a user is an evangelist does not put him/her above the law.

We are here to help, not hurt!

Hi -midnight,

!Donovan is right.
Anything that is upsetting to you, should immediately be reported to mods.
Put him on your ignore list and skip his postings.
Feel gratitude in your heart you do not have to be like he is ;D
Do you feel somewhat better now?   ;)

Hi -midnight,
I don't know why the excessive and insensitive comments would drive you away.  Evangelists are users and are not employees of avast. If this person was not an evangelist would you have the same feelings?

I have become irritated with this same person and I don't understand how switching products would solve the problem for you, me, or anyone else.

You have every right to report whoever is acting against the best interests of yourself and other users.

I just now reported this person to a Moderator.

I'm not going to change to another AV program because Avast has been protecting me for years.

Good for you on both counts.
We don't want to lose you on account of a bad apple(s).
We want you to become better at helping other users with their avast.
We do not need rude or out of line forum members.
For what it's worth I sent a PM to that particular user several days ago asking them
to tone it down. Hopefully between your reporting and my PM things will change.

You did the right thing.  8)

People think Evangelists are some special class. We are regular users just like any other, we are just devoted to avast! a bit more than average users...
