Use FileHippo Mirror link.
 http://www.filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/download/0c203d8e8244458c5da81998eb76f523/
Works for me.  Thanks.  Reason it is good is because filehippo has a habit of linking the newest version to the Download Version Link as below attached .jpg screenshot even tho one clicks the one for version 8.0.1497.  Clicking the Mirror Link gets one the correct file.

To prevent automatic updating to the newest version see the second .jpg setting one must make to ensure that this does not happen:
Windows 10 Home 64-bit 22H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.1.6099 (build 24.1.88821.762)  UI version 1.0.797
 UI version 1.0.788.  Windows 11 Home 23H2 - Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.2.6105 (build 24.1.8918.827) UI version 1.0.801

Given that in my avast 9 the tasbar icon is not present and the user interface is not available (desktop icon does nothing). Is avast 9 actually protecting my computer and is it updating?
