I assume you're using the Internet Security/Premier.. suite.

Is the firewall functioning correctly? If it is, there's nothing to worry about..

If the yellow symbol was there that meant the driver was corrupt.

If you're in doubt and what I'd recommend to be sure is a clean install:

I'd recommend you try a clean install of v9.

Note: Once you have used the uninstall tool make SURE you check device manager to see if there are any more there.. if they are.. uninstall them.

1. Download the right aswclear and the appropriate program

http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup.exe

v8 and below : http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
v9: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe

2. Uninstall Avast by control panel  [If you don't have Avast in control Panel go to #4]
3. Uninstall in safe mode using aswclear (v8 or below) or avastclear (v9) [If you don't have Avast in control Panel just install it]
4. Download and install your version
5. Reboot.

You can insert license file during install or after reboot. (If using paid version)
Windows 10 Home 64-bit • Avast Free (latest stable version) •  Malwarebytes 4 Premium (On-Demand) • Windows Firewall Control • Google Chrome • LastPass • CCleaner • O&O ShutUp10 •

Like you i had the same issue, but i had three entries of Firewall NDIS Filter Miniport with yellow symbols. So i did a clean install
then after Avast was uninstalled i went to device manager and uninstalled the three Firewall NDIS Filter Miniport with yellow symbols,
then reinstalled Avast IS,and rebooted.
Then when i go back to check device manager the three Avast Firewall NDIS Filter Miniport have disappeared.
Is this normal?I thought they would have reappeared without the yellow exclamation symbols.

Perhaps it is not necessary to have these entries in the device manager ... i had two but I don't know if they were after you uninstall version 8 ... i delete and restart and i have also reinstalled again avast and now does not appear none.the firewall is working..have if someone can confirm this..greetings

My firewall is functioning and I can't see any miniport things in my device manage either (you are talking about the windows dm right?) so I think you are right, maybe they only show up if there is an issue.

Usually you would only see the miniport adapters if theres some kind of vpn installed, like anchorfree/hotspot shield, so there not really needed.
