Changing skins yes and no
« on: May 30, 2005, 03:39:05 AM »
I downloaded and applied a new skin on my avast! 4 , I use windows 98se
But
On my sister in laws Windows 98, It does not appear as an option after I downloaded it to her computer.
So I went back to my PC and downloaded and applied another skin on my PC,But I don't understand why it does not respond when I select  skin on her avast Icon.

Do you offer any suggestions?

I don't quiet understand what you mean,but i'll try to help :)
You want to change avast! skin, but you don't see any difference right?

Download any skin you want from here:
http://www.avast.com/eng/skins.html

Doubleclick skin file and it should install itself automatically (if its a ZIP archive, first extract it).

You'll also have to right-click on blue "a" ball next to the clock, and then select Program Settings...
There you'll have to enable Skins for Simple Interface and optionally for Explorer extension. You can't miss it :)

Also,go to my eXcessive Software webpage (link in my signature) and download avast! External Control.
Go to avast! Status Info and click Dump to log button.
You'll get log file on desktop. Copy it's content and paste it here. Or just attach the file to your forum message.
Thx

Wow
You are fast - thank you

I will do that on my next visit to her home..

Does this forum accept a" print screen" paste of the screens you are requesting, because she does not have snagIt like I have on my PC to capture images.?
