Avast Software Updater ignored software
« on: November 13, 2014, 11:48:17 PM »
As much as I like the software updater, something really bothers me about this last update. The reason why you set software updates to be ignored is because you really don't care about updating that particular software. In the older version, these were always pushed to the bottom of the screen, but now they get their own section at the very top and are constantly shoved in your face.

This is an illustration of how the new UI works:

There is no default action in the Software Updater Settings to Ignore.

This is reflected in the Software Updater interface. Whilst you will see Blue text saying Ignore Updates, that is a clickable link the user can click to Ignore Updates for that particular application. To the right of that is the indication that the application/program is Up to date.

So I don't know if this is a misunderstanding in that you think that they are being ignored ?

I intentionally set a few softwares to be ignored. They used to go to the bottom of the list, but now they are constantly at the top

Setting a software to ignore should mean you don't want to constantly look at it :)

(security) warnings should be at the top as they do now.

And why having winrar and winzip while they are not free?
7zip is freeware and works fine.
