If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.

For the second audio message (in French)
"Un virus a infecté votre ordinateur!"
For the third audio message (in French)
"La base de donnée virale a été mis a jour!"
I'm not sure for the first audio message:
"Une probable infection virale a été détectée!"

third message : " La base de données virale a été mise à jour!"
first message, i'd rather say " Une infection virale probable a été détectée! " or " Une infection virale potentielle a été détectée!"

Hi VLK,
I think French translation (concerning the three audio warning) are OK.
There's no important change between CVSA's translation and mine...both are good ;)

Hi to evrybody.
I'm new to forum. I'm Italian and I want to comment the italian speech of avast! sounds.
To conserve the language I suggest you to translate "database" to "catalogo". That's for the difficult to pronunce correctly "database" in italian.
The final phrase should be:
"Il catalogo dei virus è stato aggiornato"

Another issue: you can insert an option to complete voice or alarm only (and no sounds, of course).

At last: the traslation "Riguardo avast!..." (About avast!...) should be "Informazioni su avast!..."
That is in line with all the standard program translation...

Tnx.
Avast! is a very good program and very string barrier to infections.

Sorry, Netsurfer: database is completely different. In Italian, catalogo is another thing (I work with databases). Whe n you go to your preferred restaurant or at your preferred electronic vendor you don't ask for a database (I hope!) ;D  (Database is a composed word: DATA+BASE, both of Latin origin= Data is Dati and Base is Base. Like many other words and expressions, some ancient Latin words today lives in many languages. )
See below from Dizionario di Informatica:

Yes, I know that, I don't need the translation for me.

This was only to facilitate the knowledge for the people tha don't know the computer very well.

I'm working on computer from about 25 years and I ever try to translate all the "inglesismi", you know what I mean.

If we always use the english words we don't create a computer culture like French is, you know?

Yes, you are speaking about a critical argument: please, see http://spaces.msn.com/members/gemproject/ : you'll understand what I think about  8) but we are witnesses of the fastest changes of all ages: the risk of a monolithic culture is real but - remember - in our past we have a Dictator. He was ridicoulous with certain pseudo-philological rules in Italian grammar to "defend" the Italian autharchy!!! AHAHAH!  :P . Some words are really unnecessary; other words are very useful. All is changing. Life is a continuous mutation. In the future, maybe the Chinese language will be the language of the future!  ;D
