avastclear: bug or feature?
« on: November 12, 2013, 08:50:18 AM »
Hello,

I found that avast uninstall utility is working incorrectly, because it's not deleting AVAST Software folder which located in  C:\ProgramData (win7) or C:\Documets and settings\All users\Application Data (winXP).  Sometimes it cause installer error (see image, sorry, it's in Russian, but i'll try to translate it in English: "Error: avast! installer can't continue because the latest operation was done without reboot. Reboot your PC and run installer again". After we deleted this folder manually problem was solved and user successfully installed avast. Why did it happen?

You're not the only one who noticed this.
I didn't got the message about the reboot not being done, but I noticed that after using avastclear there are still things left.
Not only folders/files, but also registry entries.
In my opinion definatly something that should be improved.
