false positive on most ATI drivers, right from ATI
« on: November 12, 2013, 10:37:21 AM »
I cannot even remember the last time I had a false positive from avast but this week it has been going nuts.

Virtually any Windows XP driver package from ATI triggers a red warning and it deletes the file.

If you haven't done it yet, report it as a false positve. http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php

Edit:
I just scanned 4 driver packages and none of them was flagged by avast.
Did you get yours from the official AMD website ?

This file is always flagged as false positive

https://www2.ati.com/DriVeRs/12-1_xp32_dd_ccc.exe

you won't be able to download it directly unless you change your referer to ati.com but once you have the file, avast will refuse to let it install and deletes it
