I installed the latested version of Avast4 Home.
After it installed it said it would not be able to scan IMAP, SMTP, NNTP, POP3 mail.  Error 10022
It also shut down my broadband internet connection. My connection icon had a yellow triangle over it that said limited or not connection.
I running P4 2.4Ghz
Xp sp2
500MB Ram
Use Outlook Express
IE 6.0
I use McAfee Security Center (would like to delete)
MS Anti-Spyware beta
Ad-Aware Se Personnal
Winn-Patrol

I'm not very used to it but, does it include an antivirus or just a firewall?
Did you disable WinPatrol to install avast or not?
Did you allow avast to connect Internet (specially ashMaiSv.exe - avast Mail Scanner)?
