ZONE ALARM
« on: June 02, 2005, 07:10:11 AM »
1° - Both Avast (vers 4.6) and Zone Lab were simultaneously installed  on me Pc.
Is it good or dangerous ?
As I had to face problems of non connection (err 80) for Avast UPDATE operation, I suppressed Zone Alarm, and now all seems to be correct.
2° - Is this Forum accessible in French and how ?
Thanks

It's good. Avast and ZoneAlarm work togheter. Do you use the free or the profesional version of ZoneAlarm?

As I had to face problems of non connection (err 80) for Avast UPDATE operation, I suppressed Zone Alarm, and now all seems to be correct.
Into the firewall settings, the following programs should be allowed to connect:

ashServ.exe (avast! antivirus service)
ashWebSv.exe (avast! Web Scanner) (allow server rights)
ashMaiSv.exe (avast! e-Mail Scanner Service) (allow email rights)
ashUpdSv.exe (avast! Update Service)
avast.setup (avast! Update executable)

I configured the firewall as copy screen jointed

 Ex: aswUpdSw.exe instead of ashUpdSv.exe
Please give me yr comments if necessary
Thanks

It is correct in his image of ZA, probably just a typo.

That means that ZoneAlarm is doing it's job of blocking intruders and worms, just press okay but I suggest put a check on "Ne plus atticher cette boite de dailogue" to prevent these annoying pop-ups appearing every second.   ;)

Yes Ok
As you recommanded I placed the check because I was "submerged" with a great nr of alerts
Thanks to you

You will always be protected by Zone Alarm, you don't need a hundred pop-ups telling you that.   ;)
