Avast & Facebook
« on: November 18, 2013, 05:46:10 PM »
Ever since I downloaded Avast free, which I just did this the other day. I have been having all kinds of trouble with Facebook. Can not get a lot of things to load and pictures just keep spinning. Can't get into a couple of my games, same things happens on my laptop which I have Avast on too.
I didn't have this trouble before I installed Avast, should I uninstall and go back to AVG?

I don't have any trouble on my husbands laptop or on my Ipad, so that way I know its caused by Avast.

I have windows 8 (which I totally hate) free version of Avast
Laptop has windows 7 ultimate (which I love) free version of avast

Can someone please help me or do I just need to take avast off and forget it.

Welcome to the forum.
How did you remove AVG ?
If you didn't use their removal tool, you haven't totally uninstalled it and that may be your problem.
Pick the right tool from the following site:

Bob3160 I did what you said and dowloaded and deleted. Still the same, thinking I am going to have to delete avast and put avg back on here.

Did you install with the 'Avast! Online Security' Module?  If so, try uninstalling this feature, via Change Program through the UNISTALLER in Programs and Features from the Control Panel in Windows.

I had similar problems and unistalling this tool fixed the issue.  I think its having issues communicating with Avast and back again... it goes 'normal' after a period of time for me, but I have a pretty phat pipe with AMAZING bandwidth.

yes I went to Avast and downloaded the free version 2014, have checked my Uninstall program and the only thing listed there is Avast! Free Antivirus, Version 9.0.2008
Not really sure what you are telling me to look for?

I really would love to keep it but I also need it to work.
