It didn't work, I dont get an error message now. I click and nothing happens.

Have you installed any third party codecs ?

Download a fresh copy of media player from here  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/download-windows-media-player

No I haven't maybe the virus infected the wmp.dll in windows media player maybe we could replace that dll.
On that site you gave me wasn't any download link for windows 7 ultimate.

The link is for all variants of windows 7

We can check but I believe it may be corrupted as opposed to infected

  • Run OTL.


  • Select All Users
  • Select LOP and Purity
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in
netsvcs
BASESERVICES
/md5start
wmp.*
/md5stop
CREATERESTOREPOINT


  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open one notepad window.
    • Attach  this logs

The files are in the correct location and digitally signed.  At this stage I can see no reason why it is not working I will continue looking but at the moment I am finding nothing relevant
