Avast says it's down/UI not working
« on: January 21, 2018, 04:50:15 AM »
Hi there. Been using Avast Free version for something like 4? 5? years now, rarely had any issues. Today I noticed Avast not working properly. It keeps giving me these errors. I've tried rebooting several times as well as going to the control panel and doing the Repair avenue - hasn't fixed the problem. Is this something server-side? What steps should I take?

Ended up following the steps for the clean install. Kind of irksome since it deleted some of the whitelisted filepaths/exceptions I had, but it seems to be working now. No idea what caused the error.

A Clean Install doesn't save your settings.
You can save your settings and then reinstall them after a clean install.
You'll find it in the General Settings:
