avast is stopping my music program from starting

hi all

I updated to the new version of avast internet security about 1 week ago . since the upgrade my music program called "reason" does not start .
I have a USB key plugged in to my computer for the music program to verify it is a legit product but when I try and start the program I get a message that says " ignition key driver could not be started"
I have put the usb key into the exclusion list but it still doesn't work .

any help much appreciated
I have filled out about 6 tickets and tweeted them and emailed them for about 6 days and have not had a reply

I did a system restore to the older version and the music program worked , but avast would not "find" the license key so I had to install the newer version

May I ask, from where did you dowload the music program as, just because you have it saved to a USB stick does not  mean it is legimate , does it ?  Or that the machine will accept you playing it ?

I purchased the music program from the official website http://www.propellerheads.se/products/reason/
I think it cost about 350 euro around 1 year ago .
the USB key comes in the post so everything is legit
the program is downloaded from the site but in order for it to work you need the USB key to prevent piracy , the key is run by codemeter , no USB and the program wont work .

It was working up until I did the latest update to avast  ( 5-7 days ago )

just to say , I don't think the program is saved to the USB . the USB is to prevent piracy . if you don't have the USB stick and register it through the website the program wont start

Something to try .. Set the hardened mode to aggressive
If it alerts on it then add to the exclusions and allow to run

I don't think the message is from avast , I just think that avast has messed something up

Have you added the USB key files to the exclusions in all the shields ?

no , I have only added it to the exclusions by going into
settings
antivirus
exclusions


how do I do it to all shields ?

It does say that it "excludes scanning from all shields " though

Just a wild  thought; have you actually checked the USB stick to see if the  iignition key is actually on it ?

A random thought is that somehow  the  key has been wiped off by Avast maybe  as a protection ?

I uninstalled the program and updated the codemeter key and the music program as of now is working .
