Adobe Update download problem
« on: November 20, 2013, 08:45:49 PM »

    First ,I use Firefox.
after clicking "update" button via Avast ,it opens a window to Adobe:

    Adobe AIR
Download the latest version of Adobe AIR
 System requirements (17.2 MB)

    Download now
You may have to temporarily disable your antivirus software.
By clicking the Download now button, you acknowledge that you have read and agre

OK i click 'download now"then it says:

    Thank You!

    Your download will start automatically.
If it does not start, click here to download

If a dialog box appears with the option to run or save, click run.

so I click "click here to download" i get a dialog box that reads:
    opening Adobe Airinstaller.exe
    binary file
would you like SaVE file or Cancel?

I click "SAVE" and see an arrow blinking to the right that indicates it downloaded.

Meanwhile-AVAST still says ADobe Air needs updating.
And I find the Adobe 'download" in my pictures.why gives?

I 've had AVAST [free version] for 3-4 yrs now and have never had this problem updating anything before.how, what do i need to do
to 'UPDATE" the needed update...??

At the icon of Avast at the bottom right hand corner, simply hover to your mouse at the Avast icon (don't click). It will show you what avast version you have. Latest version of Avast Free is 2014.9.0.2008

About your Adobe Air updating problem. Did you try repairing Avast via Add/remove?

Right click Avast tray icon>About. The latest version is 9.0.2008, if you're not on that version, do a program update by right clicking avast tray icon>update>program
Windows 10 Home 64-bit • Avast Free (latest stable version) •  Malwarebytes 4 Premium (On-Demand) • Windows Firewall Control • Google Chrome • LastPass • CCleaner • O&O ShutUp10 •

Just delete the adobe air download file from pictures. Download a new one.

When you hover to the avast icon it should say the version  ???

Okay! Double click avast icon, at the left hand side hover to the question mark and click "about avast". It will provide you with all the information. If you don't have the 2014.9.0.2008. I suggest you do a clean uninstall of avast. Uninstall it via add/remove, download the avast uninstall utility (follow the instructions), or if you want at your discretion you can also download and run this in normal mode http://rejzor.wordpress.com/avast-cleanup-tool/. Scroll down a bit on that webpage and you will see a Zip file of Avast Cleanup Tool. After you run that tool, manual restart your computer.

After that has been done. Download and install the new version of Avast. After installation is done, manual restart your computer again!

As for me i download these files in the desktop so it's easy to find when I want to install and after that delete the downloaded file. Deleting that file from the pictures after installing won't do anything

You don't have to check for updates daily! Avast Software Updater will pop you a notification when it detects there's a new version of Adobe Air and that you current one is out dated. Your welcome  :)
