Avast & MS Outlook emails

I installed AVAST FREE on my desktop and two laptops on the same day.  I used the same email and password for each installation.  Now, while I can receive emails in Outlook, I am unable to send Outlook emails from any of the three.  I am however able to send/receive emails if instead of Outlook, I go direct to Yahoo mail.  All three computers use most current Windows 7.  Thank you!

Does it work if you turn off mail scan?

Have you tried avast repair from ad/remove programs > avast > uninstall/change > repair option
