Win32:Srefef-AII (Rtk)
« on: November 29, 2013, 04:38:06 PM »
Hello again!  I have acquired a Toshiba laptop and have been working at getting it running.  Finally have things moving along pretty well but have run across an infected file I cannot do anything with.  When I did a boot scan with Avast this is the message that I got.

Windows\System32\servoces.exe is infected by Win32:Srefef-AII (Rtk)

I could not remove or delete the file.   Before doing the boot scan I had installed Malwarebytes and during that scan I got a blue screen twice so I removed Malwarebytes for now.

Thank you!

Thank you everyone!  Hopefully soon I will be posting in the virus forum.  Having some difficulty.  The Malwarebytes did the quick scan but on reboot I had two blue screens so after the second one I am running in Safe Mode with Networking.  Running the last suggested scan now and then will post.  Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to retrieve the Malwarebytes log.  Be talking to you guys soon in the other forum.
Thanks again!!!

For those of you monitoring this post, I have posted in the Viruses and worms forum subject    Win32:Srefef-AII (Rtk)

Essexboy you have helped us a number of times on our computers and I think you are the one that helped when I was repairing a friends laptop.  She had the Green Dot virus, I think that is what it was called.
