It's not a known issue... I can send and receive attachment without trouble.

Which email program are you using?
Did you allow ashMaiSv.exe connect the internet (into firewall settings)?
Do you use any other firewall than the internal Windows one?
Which is the email attachment file extension and size?

when i tried it, I had no firewall running, and the only one i have is the internal windows one
last time it was a .avi file, about 600 ko

Bonjour Odyssee.
I had the same problem, using a certain mail-program. (iScribe)
It had something to do with the authentication-settings for my mail provider.
I tried the same with another mailprogram and it worked.
Maybe you should try this.
Also, which number is given by the socket error ( for example socket-error 34) ?

Also you could try to increase the time wikmail waits for a server-response to, lets say 120 seconds.  It's in the smtp-settings area of your mailclient.

Fast :)

hum... i tried with different mail address, same result, and also sending without smtp, direct dns...
i also tried to change the time out in both my mail client and avast...

i realise now that I autozip all the attachments I send, so all are zip files
those who doesn't cause an issue are small ones (less than 100 ko)
the error is "error 5 error sending data socket error"

actually, the file progress until 99% and never reaches 100%
i tried to send attachement many times since today and despite this warning, some of them arrive...
i won't for sure change my mail client
and as i'm pretty sure of what i send, turning off outcoming scan is the easiest way....

edit setting the time out to 120 did it work... i just set it to 90 before
so problem solved... thank you again

thanks you anyway
