Startup File: dd3ff9b0-374-e [...]
« on: December 07, 2013, 08:03:52 PM »
Hi,
This is about an XP Home SP3 UTD; AVAST! 8.0.1 (Up tp date) computer.
The file: "dd3ff9b0-374-e [...]" is in Start up. (msconfig)

I believe it has to do with Avast! updates (For sure Avast!)

Can it be removed from start-up?

Thanks

Based on http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=141423.msg1027968#msg1027968, it would appear that it was supposed to force an update to 2014 build 2008 where OS was Windows 8. As your OS is XP, and more particularly if you are already using 2014 build 2008 it should not have made any changes. You could remove it without any problems.

Hi olddog,
Thank you for replying!

Oddly:
It is only on the WinXP home (SP3) Avast! V. 8.x

It is NOT on the
Win XP pro (SP3), Avast! 7.x (a desktop and a laptop)

Or the windows 7 (constantly updating itself) Avast! 7.x

Thank you
