Avast tells me to update ActiveX over and over.....
« on: December 10, 2013, 10:09:08 PM »
...and, checking download logs, I updated 11/19, again 12/8, and now 12/10.  Are there really that many changes at Adobe, or is something else going on?

Well Flash Player is a huge target, but I rather doubt it has that many updates so close together.

There are two flash player versions, that for IE and is the activeX one and the other plugin version for other browsers, firefox, etc.

You don't say what browser/s you are using ?

What avast version are you using ?
I suspect it is avast 8 as the software updater in avast 9.0 is simplified and doesn't actually display the version numbers now.

Have you tried using the Refresh/Reset function in the software updater ?

Windows XP, Firefox 25.0.1, Avast 9.0.2008, Adobe Flashplayer 11.

I just hit the refresh button, and now it says "up to date."  Thank you.  Seems odd that it works that way.......

You're welcome.

If you haven't restarted (which seems unlikely, unless you don't shutdown at night) then you would normally need to use the Refresh to ensure that the old version isn't still recorded anywhere and it is still indicating there is an update required.
