The webShield is slowing and render sluggish my web experience. I tested download and upload speed, while it is ok with the download the upload speed gets almost cutted to zero. Using Window Firewall on Windows 8.1 laptop. Don't know because it's not the first time I'm forced to uninstall Avast AV because of the WebShield and NetworkShield issue. As an example, Avira Webshield doesn't seem to affect the web speed at all. Still it's there! Sorry but I'll wait for more positive feedback about the WebShiel NetworkShield protection! :(

The installation environment:
xp 64bit sp2 with ie8 and all last update, but the ie8 browser directory has been deleted. Regional and language options set to chinese, internet properties security all set to high.Disconnect the network.
The hardware environment:
 amd athlon64 dual core cpu 4000+,amd rs780G+sb700,2G ddr2 sdram.

Install the ver avast free antivirus9.0.2010:
1.the first page:language was chinese,better than 9.0.2008;
2.selected custom installation. Did not selected google brower or tools.the avast add tools only install Browser protection.
3.It always took a long time to display next pages. So the whole installation process took nearly 7 minutes(as same as 9.0.2008).This problem as same as the ver avast free antivirus 8.0.1497.376.
4.After finish setup, the taskbar icon and avast Interface display, work ok.From the beginning to the end, a total of 11 minutes.

1. Firefox: open a web page to get the cookie, go to "Settings" (see picture "Firefox"), uncheck cookies if checked!
2. CCleaner: open "Settings" (see picture "CCleaner") mark the quested cookie and transfer it with the corresponding arrow in the middle from the left to the right side.
3. Internet Explorer: I am not familiar with that one but there must be also some kind of security setting where you can prevent cookie cleaning when closing the browser.
Good Luck!
Tools> Internet Options> General > Browsing History> Uncheck 'Delete browsing history on exit.'
Or Tools > Internet Option> General > Browsing History > Delete > Uncheck 'Cookies and Website Data'

Thank you for your advice, jrace and Seeker. :)

After doing some tweaks I noticed current AOS shows "blocked" only when something is blocked, while older AOS shows always "blocked" referring to AOS settings.  So my issue is caused by changes in AOS.
Desktop: Win10 Pro 22H2 64bit / Core i5-7400 3.0GHz / 32GB RAM / Avast 23 Premium Beta(Icarus) / Comodo Firewall

I have some other issue.

please look at this post -
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=140602

actually there is file called  "avastium.log" in logs folder and it is getting large day by day.

The developers has to do something about this file because avast append a new line in every 5 seconds (but only if system is offline).
It is been about 2 months and this file is about 6 MB large and i afraid that it will grow more by time, since avast will not delete it by itself.

thanks!

This is interesting since WebShield (especially on Windows 8 ) does almost no processing on uploads. How do you test the upload?

Thanks a lot.

No difference whether avast is on or off for me either, the confusing part is I'm supposed to be on a 20Mb max download speed limit http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3167196970

You can't understand my sorrow, being forced to use Avirafree which gives more than accepatable speed results (I get usually 1,50 Mbps upload) but also slows youtube videos at times. I test my speed here: http://testvitesse.videotron.ca/index-fr.html and it's pretty much making sense! Just checked other posts with speedtest upload speed results and that's much too slow to my taste. Can you do something about this? ;)
