No difference whether avast is on or off for me either, the confusing part is I'm supposed to be on a 20Mb max download speed limit http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3167196970

Here mind as I used Optus http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3167922329 mind isn't to bad with Optus broadband.

Check this out.

633 MBits download / 547 Mbits upload

We don't seem to be able to reproduce the problem here.

Results on videotron speed test are a little bit different, I guess the site is simply to far on the Internet from Prague.

You can't understand my sorrow, being forced to use Avirafree which gives more than accepatable speed results (I get usually 1,50 Mbps upload) but also slows youtube videos at times. I test my speed here: http://testvitesse.videotron.ca/index-fr.html and it's pretty much making sense! Just checked other posts with speedtest upload speed results and that's much too slow to my taste. Can you do something about this? ;)

Hi gfiloren, at home I have upload about 256kbits and would pay anything for a software that can make my uploads faster. So I understand your sorrow very well. ADSL connectivity is simply bad there - no relation to avast or other AV installed or not installed on any of the machines though.

Hi guys, sorry for showing off with our insane speeds, but now it seems we have indeed found some problem with uploads. Testing now the fix.

I tested new AIS build 2010 with my sis laptop and had avastsvc.exe taking most out of the processor during video playback in Youtube. Even tho I stopped video/closed browser, it still was hammering at processor like crazy  ???

It's W7 (not SP1) 32bit and C2D T7300 processor with Nvidia 8400M GS

I suppose I am able to reproduce it (uninstalled avast for now) but what should I do to help you guys fix this issue? There was no other AV installed and I did clean install after removing AIS 8 (with avast cleanup tool).

If you want to start fixing issues then first update your system to SP1 as that is required to have full compatibility I believe.

dump of the process which is consuming CPU would help...
Quality is also a feature.

That is what I though as well. But, for sake of testing, I believe I could help identify the bug. Not all W7 users have SP1 :)

Ok, I'll get that. I have emailed you before so I'm going to use that to send in the dump file(s).
