Updated Avast. Now it looks like and old version of windows.

Subject pretty much says it. I updated avast and now my screen looks like an old version of windows. Like the old XP or something. Its weird. Ex. The start button is square.

A screenshot would help.. Avast doesn't affect the personalization settings of the Desktop etc

Go to Start>All programs>Accessories>Snipping Tool.

Choose a place on your screen to capture. Save the image somewhere.

Under the answer box is an option attachments and other options, you can attach it there.
Max file size is 512 kB.

There's a button on your keyboard called "Print Screen". Press it, and save it as an image document. Add it as an extension to this thread.

I have/had windows 7 on my computer. The start button was a circle now its a square. Everything is "boxy" like an older version of windows

Looks like the Windows 7 theme couldnt be loaded or is broken.

This occurred right after I restarted it after installing the update and has never happened before. Ive had the computer for 5 years so it has to be something with this avast update, should I contact them?

Simple fix... Right click desktop>Personalize>Scroll down to "Basic and High Contrast Themes" and click on "Windows 7 basic".
