I'm running Avast Internet Security 2014.9.0.2011. After a recent update, WMI isn't be allowed to pass to the network. I run an installation of Spiceworks, and Avast seems to be stopping it from communicating with the PC. If I disable all shields, it works right off the bat. WMI queries also fail from the network with the shields on. I've enabled it in the Avast firewall for port 135, but it doesn't seem to help.
