There has been many posts on this very question.
These files are simply that: Files that can't be scanned. Nothing to worry about
You can use the "Search" function to get much information on your question.  :)

As most of us here know, it's a war, an everyday battle using common sense, constant updates and Intelligent/knowledgeable surfing. And a good Antivirus!
Much was learned here. ;)

The reason I was concerned was I think it started doing that after I just got rid of malware/virus that I got from cnet/download.com.   I used to really trust them for downloads.

Thank you.  I will.    I have used download.com for as long as I can remember so I was wondering what a better site would be.  I appreciate it.

What did you download from download.com and what was the "malware" you received ???

Last night I was downloading Revo Uninstaller when it happened.   Avast went off when it was installing.    There were over 20 things that Malwarebytes found -  Conduit, Great Arcade, Open Candy were three I remember.     I also ran Adwcleaner.     I'd ran Malwarebytes earlier in the day yesterday and it was clean then.    It's not the first time this has happened downloading something from Download.com but I thought it was a fluke.    Apparently not upon Googling it afterwards last night.    I'm not completely sure that Avast showed 'some files could not be scanned' prior to this.  I might have just not noticed until I had problems.

You also need to get into the habit to always use custom install.
If you use the default installation, you never know what surprises await you after the installation of any program.

And I will remember to use 'custom install' too.  Thanks!    Will it be pretty much self-explanatory when I do that?
