CPU stolen ( avast stores my hardware history ? )
« on: December 17, 2013, 11:02:50 PM »
Hello,

facts:
I had to repair my computer this week, i went to a pc clinic nearby to solve the problem, when i left home i had a processor : intel core 2 quad q 9600, when my computer got delivered after replacing the board and graphics i had another processor ( that was never mine) a q9450...
So i went there and they say that was mine, because i cant prove it ( no more papers because its kind of old now) i need the log of my past hardware to show them that in the last week i had the q9600 and now i have the q9450.

question:
Does avast analises the hardware of each individual computer? if yes, where is it saved? for how long? can i access it?

tomorrow i go to the shop and i want a proof, any other opinion or tip will be apreciated :)

Thank you

You can probably find the information in your avast! setup.log (C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\Setup or C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Persistent Data\Avast\Logs) with some history data.

BTW: I didn't find Q9600 anywhere on the web, just Q9650.
