Firewall won't turn on?

Since yesterday I've had an apostrophe over my Avast tab in the toolbar, when I click on the tab Avast opens up and tells me Avast Firewall is turned off, when I tell it to resolve the problem it tells me it can't.
Could someone tell me what may have caused this and how I can fix it please.

I guess I should add that I'm using Avast Premier

Please try a 'Repair' of your Avast installation.
REPAIR and RESET Avast Installation

I tried following the tasks from the link, but when I clicked the win + x keys nothing happened.
So I've just reinstalled Avast Premier and everything is back to where it should be.
Thanks for your advice though, I'm just wondering where this problem came from, it's such an unusual thing to happen as I've never had any problems before.

You're welcome.
Issues can appear at times that are caused by some form of corrupted installation files.
Doing a Reinstall of Avast acted as a 'Repair'  ;)
