HELP=License code issues during reinstall

Hi folks,
I have a new laptop and therefore have to reinstall Avast! i have been sent the license code via email but during the Avast install where it asks for the License with a browse option, it says the license is invalid or banned, it expires May 30 2014, it states that on the said code once opened (outside of the install).
Any ideas people??

Please post the exact error message you are getting, and a screen shot if possible...
